As might be expected of creatures so heavenly in color, the disposition of bluebirds is particularly angelic. Gentleness and amiability are expressed in their soft musical voice. Tru-al-ly, tru-al-ly, they sweetly assert when we can scarcely believe that spring is here; tru-wee, tur-wee they softly call in autumn when they go roaming through the countryside in flocks of azure.
- Neltje Blanchan, Birds Worth Knowing, 1917
(busy busy doing expense reports, mailing off information to hotels for the next trip, getting packets of information off to interested students, etc…back soon! Have a great Thursday, folks!) Good to be home for a few days...

Welcome home! Enjoy.....
Seeing the movie (starring Shirley Temple), "The Bluebird" left quite an impression on me. It came out in 1940, so I would have been 6.
Welcome Home!
I second that.
I love your bird paintings..
Your little bird painting is so lovely. It is so fragile and tiny looking. Great job.
I do think your "sin on a stick" should be illegal. Just think of the pounds that a woman would put on her behind. Disgraceful, oh, but I don't think that will stop me if I have the chance. *grin.
Good to have you home for a few days. It is a lovely painting. I love blue birds. we have Western ones and we have blue jays.. I love seeing the flash of blue in the mornings as I put out the food for them. Stellar and Scrub jays both. I wish con could get pix of it. He hates using cameras. sigh. :)
Enjoy your time at home, Sue! The blue bird is so sweet! I don't see many of them here. LOVE the Woody Allen quote!!! ;)
Thanks, people! I got a lot done today, which felt good. Hope to finish up lots of work so the weekend can be for relaxing.
Your most adorable bluebird ever! Enjoy your time at home!
Hi Sue, I am so glad you "caught up" so that you can have the weekend for relaxing, your bluebird is precious, we are enjoying life in San Fran, hope you have some time to "look around" on the next leg of your travels. I did indeed enjoy some chocolate last night at dinner :) Kathy.
Yes, Woody and I am so grateful that it never left. Where would humanity be without your earlier creative, artistic output?
Greetings from London.
thanks, people!
