Well, I am just now posting for the day because my travels have served up another adventure.
I had a weekend that consisted of a pitch-dark room and hallways at my hotel in
Trees were down today everywhere, and I had to detour several times on my trip through the state to my next destination.
It reminded me of the felled trees during Hurricane Fran in
Finally, tonight, I have power again, and I’m appreciating it all the moreso for having missed it this weekend! Onward…

oooooo.,,,,were you scared? Probably not, but I would have been. No one to be with. I wouldn't have liked that. Not one little bit. This is a trip full of adventure. I'm glad it's a short one.
Glad to hear you didn't blow away, either, Sue! I'm so sorry your visit to our state has been so bumpy!!
Car crashes, dark and stormy nights... You really know how to have an adventure. So glad you're safe!!!
I am so glad that you are having an adventure...but bad weather is SO very scary when you are in the middle of it...
Yet you are a fearless adventurer...! ! !
Merci beaucoup for posting these images of your experiences and your lovely watercolor sketches with so much feeling. I appreciate them so much since my big adventure these days is still life with food...you are my heroine...
Please stay safe and I send good karma your way, dear friend...
WOWZA!
That horse and carriage!
They should have taken you aboard, so they could have a great adventure :)
I heard about the winds in Ohio but didn't think you could be there!
Please take care of yourself Sue!
Remember...you belong to US now.

Oh My Sue, You really are having the adventure. Is poor Joe worried now? I hope the rest of your trip is less exciting. :) How long till you go home? What did you do while all this was going on? NO computer, No TV. No lights to paint by...Scary.
Love the pix you posted too. Great shot of the Amish buggy.
It's been interesting, to say the least! Willow, it isn't Ohio's fault that Ike decided to plow through!
Cris, Joe doesn't worry about me--he knows I'll deal with whatever comes my way, I think. It's always something, eh?!
ps
Jane--yes, I was nervous for a bit, I admit.
I'm glad you have lights and modern such again. The Amish are quite interesting but I don't think I would want to live like that all the time.
Oh, dear. Who knew Ohio would be such an adventure for you. I bet you're missing your DH.
Don't you just love Ohio wheather! I'm in Norwalk (about 40 miles north west of Wooster)and we lost our half built barn to those winds yesterday. We were very glad that what fell over was just our barn and not one of the neighbor's homes. Your painting is of course just beautiful and I'm glad you were able to get where you needed to go!
Well, things could have been worse: when I first outlined my itinerary for fall trips, I had initially intended to head to Texas first! I'd have been right in Houston for Ike if I'd gone ahead with that plan. So I'm considering myself fortunate!
My goodness!! Safe travels home!!
Cool adventure. We think we are in charge and then, boomp, here comes chaos... This is so neat to see on your road. Thanks so much for letting us share. Safe travels and many happy views.
Scary! Glad you are safe!
Jeepers! It began with a bang, then a storm and blackouts.
You've chosen the accompanying quotes, well!
May it not become *too* exciting, though!
