Three for the Mona Lisa:
1
It is not what she did
at 10 o'clock
last evening
accounts for the smile
It is
that she plans
to do it again
tonight.
2
Only the mouth
all those years
ever
letting on.
3
It's not the mouth
exactly
it's not the eyes
exactly either
it's not even
exactly a smile
But, whatever,
I second the motion

Have a wonderful, art-filled weekend, all!

OH Loverly!
I plan to go to the Met tonight to catch the new Morandi exhibit and the soon-to-close Pietro Dure show...a lot to do after work but you inspire me.
I HAVE to catch up!!
I forgot to say I ADORE this watercolor-evocative...lyrical...poetic!
Thanks so much, Carol! I'm envious you're going to see those shows. Sounds fabulous! Have a great time!
Your watercolor sketch is absolutely delightful!! And I love the Twyla Tharp quotation--how true!
Oh these are fabulous! Love the quotes and the pieces you chose. Wow. I can visit all weekend. I LOVE those oriental figures. Just beautiful. Thank you. Big smile.
Thanks, Laura and Janice! I like that Twyla Tharp quotation, too.
Lovely poem, and painting! Do you get to go home for the weekend?
Thanks, Sharon!
No--I don't go home just yet...I will go home this coming Wednesday for a few days. Then right back out. I will have been gone 3 weeks-but that's much shorter than last year's schedule, so this is fine!
Oh what a lovely painting. It has so much movement. You actually feel like your swaying with them.
Love you quotes as usual. No art this weekend, but hopefully soon. Estate sale going very well tho, but I am pooped. :))
Thanks for the stroll through the gallery. I love the Tharp quote!! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend, Sue. :)
Here's hoping your Saturday is super special. I love that you find something to watercolor every where you are. You are an inspiration.
It was a wonderful gallery--I really enjoyed it.
Beautiful painting Sue and wonderful art pieces from around the world, Kathy

Hi Sue - such gorgeous pieces, thanks for sharing (I especially love the pendant). Have fun on your travels. Do you think you'll be able to do something next weekend? I am free either Friday or Saturday....let's try and plan something. XO Claudia
I saw the Mona Lisa and what surprised me was how small she actually is.
Lovely, worth repeating! Love your watercolors...always.
Oh how funny. I looked at these and thought.. wow they have movement and the scolled down and wondered how on earth my thoughts got down already. Then I realized this whole thing was a repeat. I STILL think it has movement. :))
