“Weather forecast for tonight: dark. Continued dark overnight, with widely scattered light by morning.” (-George Carlin)

“Don’t knock the weather. If it didn’t change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn’t start a conversation.” (-Kin Hubbard)

Is there anything nicer
Than red woolly mittens
As fluffy and soft
As a blanket of kittens?

Red mittens to keep
My hands warm as toast
On cold winter days
When I skate or coast.

(-unknown)

Well, our weather here in North Carolina is supposed to turn warm, but for those of you who won't have that, Stay Warm! Happy Weekend, all!

This sketch is beautiful, perfect--you can feel the wind behind her.
Love the quote from the Hippie-Dippy Weatherman too!

Oh that was one of my families favorite saying by George Carlin. We used that alot. :) Fantastic painting. You are so good at getting 'attitude' to your paintings. and/or movement..I too can feel the wind behind her. Have a lovely weekend.

Love the red mittens, and from the look of that wind, she needs them too!

Happy weekend to you as well!

Thank you, all. Have a great weekend!

Laure, thank you very much for the award. I'm not very good at that type of thing, but I'll thank you for even thinking of me!

Suem
this is one lovely lady you painted!
I love her ankle boots, you "nailed" them so well, I can see her walk. ;-)

Foehn wind has finally brought an end to the siege of snow and fog here. I had almost forgotten how a blue sky looked like!

I am looking forward to see spring bursting onto the stage in your parts of the world.

A wonderful weekend to you!

It's warmer here, too! Lots of slushy snow melting. Best weekend wishes to you, as well! :)

Thanks, folks!

Raymonty, thanks for the kind invitation. I looked at your site and they are lovely photos...

I have only painted a lighthouse once before, and it was en plein aire. One day, I'll maybe give one another shot. ;)) Thanks for stopping by and for the comment!

Fabulous painting. I, too, love the boots and the fact that I can see the wind blowing behind her. I love the paintings of your 'pretty things' too, the knife and grape cutting scissors. I have a beautiful pair of embroidery scissors with handles like your. They are tine, delicate and beautiful. You would love them.

Thank you, Galleryfang, Merisi and BT.

BT, they sound beautiful--I've seen some pretty embroidery scissors at our flea market, and I'll bet you're right--I would probably leave them sitting out! LOL
