"People who have the most birthdays live the longest." (--Jean Bucher)

Well, this Libra is turning 55 on Friday!

How'd that happen!? Seems like just yesterday I was about 8.

I remember once when my mom had a birthday in her late 70's, I asked her how she felt, and she said "I feel like I'm 25!" I remember we both laughed, and I said "Well, I've gotta' say, you don't really look 25!" But isn't that wonderful that she felt so young. That's what's important, I think.

I'm definitely at an age where I'm comfortable in my own skin.

"There are three signs of old age: loss of memory...I forget the other two." (-Red Skelton)

"The secret to longevity is to keep breathing." (-Sophie Tucker)

Have a great weekend, all!

As for me, I'll be flying to Eugene, Oregon tomorrow, and then taking a meandering drive to northwestern California this weekend.

And a very happy birthday to you!
Yes, I think the feeling of age reflects the way life is lived. We can't discount calendar dates, but we can make 'em count!

The age we really have is that we feel inside, in our heart.....so, ¡¡Happy birthday!! And try to be happy every day, life is wonderfull and friends and family, the most important.

Have a very Happy Birthday, and a great trip, too. Do you think we ever feel 55...or 60...or...maybe that's a great gift: to never feel one's chronological age but still feel like that young girl inside.

Happy Birthday! We're the same age now. No. You'll always be younger. :) But its a good age to be. It just gets better!

Have a wonderful day and keep producing these delicious watercolours. The balloons are perfect!

Thanks so much, everyone! Cris, I thought of you and wondered if I could somehow finagle a side trip to try to meet you, but i have a feeling it's going to be a long day of driving, and I'll probably have to get a move on it. But I'll be thinking of you!

Happy Birthday. As one 13 yrs your senior I want to say you have a long while yet to feel good in your skin. I still do, even just now when I start to see it changing...shape...texture...but like good art it simply becomes more interesting.

Thanks so much, Terrie!

Lynn, I hear you! I'm one of those people who find wrinkles interesting--shows the life one's lived. So I don't mind mine. And believe me, I have 'em!! thanks for the birthday wishes!!

I do hope you had a lovely birthday on Friday. Only 55? I remember asking my Mum the same question and getting roughly the same answer! I love those quotes, they're really funny. Have a great trip.

Your paintings are just beautiful, especially the balloon one.

Thank you so much, Maureen, and BT, thank you, too! Very nice of you. Certain days, 55 feels very old, others not at all! LOL
