"Sexy as socks on a rooster" (--Unknown)

Yesterday, I arrived in Evanston, Illinois, ready and eager to visit Northwestern University in the morning.

As I settled in at the hotel, and glanced out the window, I realized that across the street, there was a Blick Art Supplies Store staring back at me.

I'm like a kid in a candy store when I can explore art supplies to my heart's delight, so needless to say, I high-tailed it over there and spent an hour or so lost in time.

On the way out, I was excited to head back to the hotel and play with my new Yupo pad. The Yupo polypropylene sheets are slick, and the paint just kind of oozes all over the page. It was fun to just slosh the paint on, and watch what it did on its own. I'll be playing around some more with this when I can.

"You can be a rooster one day and a feather duster the next." (--Frank McManus)

These are fabulous!! What fun you must have had, and I do agree, there is nothing better than losing yourself in an art store for an hour or two!

A very nice treat for you and your roosters are dynamite!

Have yet to give Yupo another try...didn't really take to it the first time..these look great! When I saw the thumbnail that's exactly what I thought you had painted on. I'm a sucker for art supply stores as well!

These are wonderful, Sue. I haven't use my Yupo in awhile. This makes me want to unpack it and give it a try again.

Thanks, everyone! I'm enjoying playing with that Yupo--it's a riot.

Hi Sue
I just stopped in to see these roosters again.... what fun! It's amazing the movement I see in them -- especially the last two -- they seem to be walking in a "roostery" sort of way!! : )

Isn't YUPO the BEST thing to happen to paint in a long time??!!! These creatures are so alive and active, they may 'glide' right off the paper. Love them.

You painted the Fred Astaires of roosters! *giggles*
They are definitely tap dancing.

Love your selection of rooster sayings. ;-)

I am thinking of you, Sue.
Wondering whether you'll get a nice long break for Thanksgiving and for how long you'll have to be still on the road.

May there be blue skies wherever you travel!

Cute roosters. And as Merisi wrote, they are tap dancing :-)

Thank you so much, everyone. I am home but have to head to work until Thanksgiving day, and then the following Monday, my last trip for the fall, so it's almost over, Merisi! Thanks for the thoughts!
