"He that sups upon salad, goes not to bed fasting" (--Thomas Fuller)

Another sketchbook project image.
Well, I'll be eating lots of salads now: it's our pre-Orientation days and students are back for the year! I tend to eat lots of salads on the road, trying for the life of me to be healthy.
Every night for these current two weeks, I'll be at work extremely early and staying very late, while we get the newest gang acclimated to Duke.
"There was an Old Person of Fife,
Who was greatly disgusted with life;
They sang him a ballad,
and fed him on salad,
Which cured that Old Person of Fife."
(--Edward Lear, English artist, writer)
And why, pray tell, is blogger ignoring my font requests and spacing? Who knows.

Safe travels Sue! And salads are wonderful companions, but so is a little protein, so don't leave him behind?

Oh is it that time of year already?? Means winter is around the corner. But Salads always mean summer to me. Lovely painting. Hope we get more of these charming little paintings.

I love to eat salads--when someone else makes them! I don't mind chopping, etc., but feel I never have enough, or the right, ingredients on hand to make a salad interesting enough to be satisfying, rather than a chore, to eat!
When I make my own salad I'm usually out of bed before long to nosh on whatever I can get my hands on!
Your sketchbook is really coming along! How will you part with it?

Sue. I, too, noticed that the fonts with Blogspot have changed and what was formerly the normal size is now smaller. What I do for Travel Oyster is go to a former blog posting that has the font size I want, copy one word and then begin typing on the new post template. Viola - you get the size you want. Remember to erase the first word from the former blog. There might be a better way to do it, but I have not found it.

Stay safe, Sue, and have fun! I agree with Laura . . . I can't wait to see your sketchbook in "the flesh." The work it contains is wonderful!!

Thanks, everyone!

Betty, it's not that great--and the paper is pretty awful, but this has been great fun. Can't wait to use good paper again, though!

Laura, you're kind--I'll have no trouble parting with it, though!
