"Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast." (--Willy the Shake)

More Sketchbook Project images.

I'm adding little newspaper clippings, notes, headers on some pages, etc, throughout. This image, below, is the Sketchbook Project moleskine that I'm using. I've used lots of moleskines before--some watercolor books, and some grid-lined books; some just true sketchbooks--not heavy paper, but certainly heavier than what I'm using here.

I could have emptied the pages from this book and inserted watercolor papers, but I chose instead to work with what they gave me. After all, I often sketch/paint in my grid-lined moleskine at work. It's just about the same thickness as this rattley paper, so I just decided to have at it.

I've got all kinds of ideas for what I'll fill this one with... so stay tuned. And bear with me and this paper! It's definitely not the most glamorous-looking stuff there is.

Onward.

Looks like it's going to be TERRIFIC!
That particular Moleskine does not like watercolor sadly- the surface is resistant. Where as the graph paper one works well even if it wrinkles a bit..
I didn't realize they provide you with the book..?
The watercolor series now come in much larger sizes - that paper is lovely...
Bon chance Sue
PS
I'm packing my bags to come make a mess at yr place :)

I love this. I was wondering why the blank spaces you showed now it makes sense. I am so glad your showing it all. What fun. Good thing you have a great imagination. Looking forward to more. You're doing great inspite of the thin paper.

You've already done some beautiful sketches--and I love the thistle here--but I love how you are now riffing on the "this is not a sketchbook" theme ...It's an evolving concept!

Thanks, everyone--you're so generous. The paper is really making it pretty lame--I'm looking forward to doing a similar book in nice paper. It's really a fun project, though, despite how lame mine is!

Thanks, Ronell--it's nothing glamorous, that's for sure. But it is definitely fun.
