"Broken cookies have no calories." (--Unknown)
It's true.
That's a well-known fact.
This evening, I did some holiday baking, and made these "Cappuccino Love Bites." They're laced with Kahlua and rolled in coffee crystals for extra flavor. Not half bad, and kind of festive.
I spent part of the day writing out Christmas cards today, because...well, because I still like sending and receiving cards and letters in the mail, so I guess I'm just old-school when it comes to things like that.
No more ice or sleet, and the sun was out today, so it's back to work Monday.
Bring it on.

If you add to that the corollary "Food eaten while standing has no calories" and you eat broken cookies while standing up, you have actually LOST calories. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Have a merry Christmas!
Oh Yummm.. Those look and sound good. to bad we dont have smellavision. :)) I like Jeanettes idea on the Lost calories...lol..Works for me...:)
Also ALL cookies eaten on Sundays are calorie and fat free too. Just so you know... :)
They look delicious. You inspire me to do some baking. I've done nothing so far in terms of baking for Christmas!
Those cookies sound heavenly...and I'll have to remember the trick about the broken cookies...does it still work if you break them yourself?!!
Love the cards! I too love getting cards and letters in the mail, but I've been a bad girl this year....no cards....yet!
Those sound yummy and are beautiful. It's true, the calories leak out of broken ones.
I just googled the recipe. I'm all over it. They look delicious.
Thanks, people!
Kass, they're pretty good! I just thought they'd be different, and they'll be great with a hot cup of something or other!
ps
Jeanette and Jeanette, thanks for the tips--I was not aware.
Those cookies look so darn cute! Hope you have a wonderful Holiday. And I agree theres nothing better then a card or letter in the mail.
Linda
YUM YUM Broken cookies!
how did you know?
I belong to the broken cookie club.
I personally think they taste BETTER. After all they have try harder than the perfect cookies.
LOVE your watecolor cards!!
What a clever duck you are.
Oh, I should go eat the ones on the counter then!
I am with you on the cards. Unfortunately this year I ran out and need to make some more up! I love getting cards. Still one of the joys of the holidays for me.
I'm baking cookies today. I think some might just have to break.
I think it's only fair, Tess. Enjoy!
O lookie, yummy treats! Wonderous!
WOW! These cookies look fabulous! What a nice combination - I've got to try them out. Thanks for the pointer to the recipe and for sharing the idea. I also like the glimpse of your Christmas card - nice! I'm old-fashioned too and enjoy sending/receiving real paper cards. I received my first Christmas ecard tonight... and I'll confess that I wasn't too excited to open it. I'll take paper.
Thanks so much for visiting, Claire and A Fistful!
We are old-fashioned in that sense, Claire--I still like the time-honored tradition of the card we write out and let people know we're thinking of them...
