Well, this morning, we had one sweet little visitor...
...he quietly enjoyed the suet all to himself...
but it wasn't long before another just had to join in on all the fun:
...well, it is the holidays, after all...
...but it turns out that what my 5th grade teacher, Sr. Eleanor, used to say, really is true:
that "birds of a feather flock together:"
As luck would have it--just as I was uploading all these photos, 5 bluebirds were on the feeder all at the same time! I missed getting a picture of that. Sigh...
The whole family evidently likes to get into the act.
Must be an early New Year's celebration:
"Eat some suet today, because tomorrow, we diet."

OMGOSH.. Is this adorable or what? We don't have them around this time of year. We don't see them much other times of the year either, but we have the Western ones altho they look a like they have a couple different habits. Yes I know the feeling..tomorrow we do diet!!! :O
LOVE these blue birds Sue!

So THAT's where everybody went! Not to worry: it gives me something to look forward to in spring...I only see them in the park, but they do brighten my walks with Ozzie.
We're always glad that they choose to visit us--they're sweet birds. They seem to be enjoying the food while the snow's still around.
they're so pretty, Sue! XO
Wow, what a delight. I hope it is an omen of many blessings for you in the year to come. Happy new year.
What a delightful presence to have in the garden, ESPECIALLY at this time of year!
Happiest of New Years, Sue!
It seems you will have to set up a video camera so you can capture THE 12 BLUE BIRD DAYS OF XMAS!
I've never forgotten seeing "The Bluebird", a film when I was 6. Other than jays, we don't seem to have bluebirds here. I want to diet on the first, but I also want to have apple fritters while watching the parade. What to do, what to do?
Hahaaa--Jane, go for those fritters!! They sound delicous. Life is short... eat one for me!
Oh those birds are so pretty. We have loads of birds on our feeders but nothing so exotic.
Such magical bird photos, Sue. And I love the latest too. I'm still trying to get the local birds to eat out of the various feeders I've managed to find. They will eat seed from the ground but of course, I can't see or photograph them there.
Wishing you a wonderful year in 2011.
