"When snow falls, Nature listens" (Antoinette Van Kleeff)
The entire time I was on the road for this last trip, I worried that I'd run into snow up in Massachusetts.
Lo and behold, it wasn't until my plane hovered over RTP that I wound up seeing any of the white stuff. We were almost re-routed to Nashville because the pilot couldn't see the runway.
I'm glad he finally saw it.
I had to get a photo of this little bird as I was coming in the door at our front step last night. (see above)
This morning, I awoke, and looked out at the back deck to see my little friends greeting me...
...our violas are happily nestled in the snow, still perky and happy...and the bluebirds, welcoming me back home to the quiet and peace that a snowfall always seems to bring...
It's good to be home.
Happy Weekend, folks!
(You must be so tired of my bluebirds, but I never tire of them!)

I love, love, love bluebirds and am missing mine. So it is especially nice to see yours.

Welcome home.. Happy you can be with Joe & your flowers & birds now. I will NEVER get tired of seeing your bluebirds. What sweet photos here. What a welcome home. :))
What is wrong with someone who could become tired of Bluebirds? They are magic! Simply magic!
We sometimes have them over-winter here in NW NY state (Rochester). Normal magic is magnified when you find a flock of Bluebirds foraging in the snow!
I never tire of your bluebirds, Sue. They are a bit rarer here in Ann Arbor in winter, but I saw one this morning on a walk along the river. Always a welcome sight.
I'm glad you're back home safe and sound, despite snow.
We don't get bluebirds here, so its lovely to see a real one. Lucky you!
So sorry I've been away so long but family worries overtook me a bit. I just love your bluebirds as I've never seen any except on your lovely blog! The violas are so pretty, I love them and they flower almost all year don't they? Welcome home.
Glad you are safe. WE are in a blizzard as I write so I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere.
And I will never tire of any birds!
NEVER tire of yr blue birds...especially the ones you PAINT!!!

So pretty!
i've never seen a real bluebird. I'm sitting here so envious of the treasure in your garden. Such such delightful pictures. Now hopefully you are cosy at home for a while.
I'm glad you made it home safe and sound. I woke up to a glorious blanket of snow this morning.
Thanks, everyone! I always think you must be saying to yourselves, "enough, already, with the damn birds!!" I don't blame you if you do, but I love the birds. They make me smile.
