"Style is a magic wand, and turns everything to gold that it touches" (--Logan Pearsall Smith)

I don't know why, but I always go back to sketching vintage fashion photos--they're just really fun to try to capture with watercolor, I think.

This weekend is a three-day weekend for me, so I'm planning to get out and take long walks, cook some, maybe do some baking, and sketch if I can.   It's cold outside, but sunny, blue skies, and I intend to get out into it.

Happy weekend, all!

"Style is a simple way of saying complicated things."  (--Jean Cocteau)

wonderful! I love this watercolor! I used to draw costumes from old movies ... I just love drawing drapery but I must admit doing watercolor versions intimidate me!

Enjoy a beautiful weekend!

Et bien tu as du style puisque tu transforme le complexe en simple, et tu mets de l'or dans l'eau de tes superbes aquarelles !

it's true that the 50's had a more lovely graphic look...and your painting does them justice!

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate all the kind words. I'm enjoying this relaxed weekend and have so far gone for 2 long walks--an hour and a half each, which felt heavenly. Good to be outdoors when it's not so brutally cold.

I love this feminine beauty. Vintage fashion is more feminine, with its fitted bodices and waistlines. Just love it. Especially when there is a full skirt, something Louis Vuitton does very well.
