"I named all my children after flowers. There's Lily and Rose, and my son, Artificial." (-Bert Williams)

Our campus at Duke is so pretty right now--the pansies are reviving, the tulips are popping up, the magnolias are out, and just everything is budding like crazy.  Pollen weather, to be sure, but oh, so lovely!  I am in a painting mood.

Happy Tuesday!  No time for a big post today.  If it's pretty where you are, get out and enjoy it!

"Art is the unceasing effort to compete with the beauty of flowers--and never succeeding."  (--Gian Carlo Menotti)

Sue, This watercolor is BEAUTIFUL. WOW. Love the flower photo. is that from an Orchid or tulip tree? I keep forgetting the names of the trees. We have one about to bloo in our yard. Love those flowers. I saw the temps in your neck of the woods on the news today.. much warmer then we are right now. I am jealous. :))But at least our pretties are blooming.

Sue, your latest yupo florals are so wonderful!!!! Enjoy your springy weather and paint, paint, paint.
We have crocus blooming here BUT--- there is sleet and snow in the forecast for tonight -- what's with that?
btw--the quote is a good one!

Thanks, kind people! I'm telling you, Yupo is the most addictive stuff. I love playing with it.

Cris, I think it's one of those tulip trees. I forget the name of it, but I want to say tulip magnolia?? I'm pretty sure that's right. I love those trees.
