"No two gardens are the same. No two days are the same in one garden" (-Hugh Johnson)

Take a stroll with me through Duke Gardens:

\

They're in their peak, and everywhere there's stunning color.

Tulips, hyacinth, flowering trees, camellias...

Lots of folks have been wandering through the terraces with cameras, just like me,

enjoying the serenity and beauty.

It's the prettiest time of the year to be at Duke, in my opinion.

Everywhere you look, it's lovely.

It's supposed to get cold and rain this week, so I wanted to document it all so I'll remember it at its peak.

Soon, the wisteria over the pergola will be tumbling down, and I'm watching daily...

I'll keep you posted on that.

These are all gorgeous photos. Its so pretty there. We are getting lots of rain too and its taking a tole on the beauty of the blooming trees & things. So I've been recording it with my camera also. What is that lovely blue flower? When ever I see a blossoming tree against a blue sky I think of Van Goghs painting he did for his Neices room. I saw it in person in LA some years ago. Your photo reminded me of it. I hope your flowers wont freeze tonight.

Thank you for taking us along!
Would you believe that some of the corners of the Duke gardens are starting to look familiar? Feels so good to revisit them with you,
thank you,
Merisi

That red bridge is just fabulous. Your spring has sprung down there! Ours? Hmm. Snowflakes are softly falling as I type.

Thnx, folks!

Cris, I'm not sure what that little blue flower is--it was almost as small as, say--a periwinkle.

Merisi, I can believe you're recognizing things--it probably means I'm boring you all with Duke garden pictures too often!

Tess, I can't believe you're having all that snow--I saw your photos on fb.

Hi Sue! Wow, it is beautiful on that campus....if we get down there this summer, maybe you can take Kyra and I there so we can see it for ourselves. It's cold and rainy in NJ. Chris asked me (as if I really knew), "When is it going to get warm?" Did I tell you he's 5'9" now! He shot up over the last 3 months. I'm officially the shortest in the family at 5'7". Yikes. XO Claudia

That'd be great, Claudia! I'd love to take you guys over there and take your photo with Kyra. I hope you guys come and I'll plan some fun things. Amazing that you're the shortest--your kids are gonna' be tall--Mike is tall, too.
