"There are really only two plays: Romeo and Juliet, and put the darn ball in the basket" (--Abe Lemons)

Lots of Blogger problems today...Blogger doesn't seem to be happy with uploading photos.  I finally got this one to load through the HTML mode, rather than the "Compose" mode.

Who knows why?

I'm sketching and watching the NCAA tournament.   These games have been insane, with up to the last second dramatic moments, crazy wins no one expected, and people tearing up their brackets in exasperation.

They don't call it March Madness for nothing, do they!?

I tried to think of shapes and composition more than "flowers" and "bird" here, and kept a very light touch, (but unfortunately, the latter creates problems with a scan.)

(The colors here are kind of off in this scan: I think in person they are more subtle.)

Thanks, Olga. Kind of you!

Liana, yes--it's yupo--that stuff is a riot. I love it.

Oh how pretty. wish we could see these in person. I know they are even more wonderful. At least the games arent boring. :))

i have been working on yupo, but, maybe i am putting the paint on too thick? mine does not have this gorgeous look that yours has.

Liana, I try adding drops of water into some of it and varying how much paint I use here and there--it creates almost a mosaic feel to it if you play with it some as it starts to settle, I think. It's so bizarre, isn't it?

at the moment, for me, i would use the word, frustrating. i love how yours look and also i have seen other artists get the same great transparent look like yours. i will try your tip to use drops of water. thanks!

Believe me, I still get frustrated with it, Liana! It's bizarre--the one nice thing about it is that you can take a wet paper towel and wipe the whole thing off and then start over again!

I went to yoga today right after KU lost - and my teacher told us this was an opportunity to learn to let go... :-)

Jeanette, yoga would probably help. It's been stressful watching those darn games!

I really like this. I was going to ask what sort of paper you used, but I see in an earlier comment you wrote Yupo.
