It's been a busy week.
Nothing like having round two of a root canal, and doing one's taxes all in the same day. I'd say it turned out to be a fruitful one.
Joe had a flurry of activity in our garden, adding all sorts of pretty flowers. He planted some gorgeous coral roses, and these pretty lavender roses as well. He knows I'm a huge fan of lavenders and plants in the blue family. We have several lilacs, roses, blue salvias and these beautiful flowers, our clematis, below...
...or, as Joe, who can never remember "clematis," describes them, "you know--that clitoris plant."
"There are a few things I've learned in life: always throw salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for good luck, and fall in love whenever you can." (--Unknown)

LOL I am still giggling over the Clitoris plant. Something my DH would come up with. He can never get the names right. :)) Love the colors of the plants , the painting and the first quote..A plant manager.. that works for me.. :)
Hope you are done with all the dental work now. What a week that was...
Clitoris plant is priceless. Hope your tooth heals up quickly. Not a fun process, I must say.
Taxes AND root canal!
Not fair!!
Doing my taxes felt like root canal but of course no way was it.
You have my sympathies.
Still when it's over it feels like a time to celebrate and NOT do all the things you planned to do once it was over...ahem
I would like to have a garden to plant some lavender or rosemary, but I do have lavender watercolor, so it will just have to make do.
Feel better Sue
Love your new banner whatever it is :)
beautiful banner Sue -- Frog on a leaf?
Those quotes are wonderful --the plant manager made me giggle -- the clitoris plant made me roll on the floor! Hope you're healing from your root canals and taxes too.
Sorry about the root canal! Yuke. Love the quotes...
Your quotes are always memorable and shareable (a word?) Love Joe's name for clematis!
I hope the root canal is soon a distant memory!
Me encanta la forma que tienes de manejar las pinceladas y de resolver las pinturas en tan pocos trazos. Son fantásticas. Felicitaciones! Te sigo diariamente desde Argentina.
Got to love a man who makes you laugh--Mr. Malaprop?
All I have right now is daffodils and grape hyacinths, but, lucky for me, they're amazing together!
I'm partial to blue/blue-violet flowers too, especially salvia, delphinium, and flax!
Love this post, the quotes and I will never hear the word clematis without a good giggle again. Thanks Joe everyone should have a good giggle every now and then.
I did "laugh out loud!" Such a crack up. Thank you.
What a gorgeous purple post! Love the shades of lavender. Great quotes too!
Hope you are having a beautiful week!
I have to agree with Laura, a man that can make you laugh (and he did!) is worth keeping!!
Glad the taxes and round 2 are behind you—time to celebrate!
Thanks, all. My tooth isn't hurting this week at all. Last week was quite painful, but smooth sailing now, thankfully.
As for Joe, yes--he keeps me laughing.
Very busy at work now, and this weekend, I'm taking off for VA to see my father-in-law who is ill. Eric is meeting me, so that will be nice.
I have this purple clematis at my front door...I will never be able to look at it without smiling and thinking of this blog. How wonderful.
Thanks, Katrina--pretty funny, eh? I do love the clematis. We also have a dark, bluish-purple clematis that's stunning--it blooms a bit later.
