I spent a good portion of the day at the endodontist's office having a root canal on one of my back molars.
Lots of fun, that...
As it turns out, I learned today that "we might be talking about the involvement of two teeth." Lucky me. I had four canals drilled into one tooth today, and the insertion of lots of medicine. Next week, it's back and sealing everything up after it's all evaluated. Then, on to investigate whether the tooth right alongside this one is also affected.
So, for now, my newest two best friends are warm salt water solutions and Tylenol. I'm pretty sore.
I crashed for about two hours this afternoon, which helped me through the worst stretches, and when I awoke, I looked outside to a beautiful spring day, and look who's back.
Joe peeked inside the bluebird house, and reported back to me that we have 3 eggs in this sweet nest. I'm excited! At least there was some good news today!
When my son learned I was heading to the endodontist, and that they'd told me I could bring my iPod or wear glasses and watch a movie while the surgery was going on, he said I should ask for "Marathon Man." (If you're not familiar with that movie, it's a horribly stressful thriller with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier, who plays a really sadistic dentist.) I've seen it before.
I opted for no tunes and no movies: wanted to keep my eye on the proceedings, masochist that I am!
"Some tortures are physical,
and some are mental,
But the one that is both
Is dental."
(--Ogden Nash)
I'll get back to sketching as soon as I can here...

so weird, i was at the dentist yesterday, for a regular cleaning. Sorry to hear about the possibility of 2 vs. one (one's bad enough!). Beautiful birdhouse, and cute little bird. XO Claudia
"Is it safe...?"
Commiserations.
Oh how exciting.. about the blue bird eggs..Not so for you and the root canal I know. Sorry. Been there done that years ago. Not fun but I did opp for music.. couldnt stand the SOUND of the drilling. :O
I am not seeing any egg laying action going on here yet. I look forward to the blue bird baby pix you will take. I never tire of them. :)
I know EX-actly how you feel. I had a four canal job done on one of my molars and I felt like I had been hit by a truck! Rest up and feel better soon, dear friend. xx
Sorry Sue :(

Your post did make me chuckle!
Many years ago my sister went to America on a school exchange. The onboard entertainment was the film 'Airplane' with Lesley Nielson!!!
Oh, my. Not fun but I need not tell you that. I won't bore you with my own horror stories of dental nightmares, but will offer my "commiserations" as well. (Loved Dinahmow's comment!)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend in spite of the situation.
Love those "blues!"
The two quotes made me laugh! Oh, but no laughing matter having that kind of work done. I hope you'll be feeling well again very soon, Suzanne, and fingers crossed for next week!
Hope this is an end of your trials!
Thanks, everyone! The first go-round was actually very sore--like "throbbing" sore, but yesterday, I had the final actual root canal process, and it was completely fine. Thank goodness.
I appreciate all the kind notes!
