"I'm not really a career person; I'm a gardener, really." (--George Harrison)

Well, I've been awfully busy, but I'm afraid I've been neglecting my blog as a result.   I've had no time to paint, so this is an old image.  Bear with me!  I'll get there again.  I spent a good bit of time this weekend out in the dirt, in the thick of things

The ducks have trampled the foliage on our irises, and some of the flowers were literally on the ground, so I decided to bring a few inside so that we could enjoy them here.

And several of our roses are starting to bloom, along with buds all over the hydrangeas, too!  I wanted to clean up the perennials in the garden some, and plant some annuals as well.   I wish I could spend all my days out there.  While we're still having nice temperatures, I'm enjoying it when I can.

Someone is going to be a hurting puppy tomorrow, though, I can tell you that!

"For every disciplined effort there is a multiple reward."  (--Jim Rohn)

Oh your days sounded like ours. We FINALLY had a Beautiful day to work in the yard and its so out of hand that I just barely made a dent but it felt good to be out there working in the dirt. :))I was able to bring in some of my own lilacs for the first time since moving here which made me very happy. Glad you were able to get out this weekend. Love the painting even if the second time we have seen it. :)

I think gardening and art go hand-in-hand!

A gardener is an artist, but all artists are not gardeners! Your flower bouquets are so beautiful! Kisses

I always find that in the first splashes of spring, I am less productive artistically. When it get fiercely hot, I retreat to the shade, and start up work again. You will get back to it! Never fear--you are filling the well!

For being busy, you still got in a lovely post! LOVE the roses in the turquoise vase! That is the color (I can't seem to get right) that I want my bedroom!

Have a beautiful week!

The ducks have trampled the foliage on our irises...

Do you realize what a nice sentence that is? I bet not :)
If only some ducks would trample MY non-existent irises...

Haahaaaaa...Carol, you kill me. A garden's work is never done. But I enjoy that kind of work, at least.

Thanks, patient people.

I know what you mean! I love the little watercolor sketch, especially the the loose way you handled the paint.

I'm so glad to hear you've been out digging in the dirt Sue! Gardening is the only thing I can think of that I don't mind doing even if I'm dead tired.
