"By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong." -- Charles Wadsworth
A very happy Father's Day to dads the world over. And daddy, Happy Father's Day to you! I love you. (photo: l-r: Sue, Daddy, Claudia on his lap, Mary Kate.)
I was fortunate that I got to visit my dad last weekend, and called him today. If your dad is around, don't forget to tell him you love him. And if he's not, remember him in this moving song by Peter Gabriel:
Oh, I love that picture! Thanks for sending me the one of the two of us in the cherry blossoms, I wrote something about him, nice that you "reminded" me with the picture. He was so handsome, eh? You were always the pretty one, look how pretty you were even then. XOXO Hope you and Joe are having a nice Father's Day. Claudia
Hi, Claudia! You too--hope you're enjoying it as well. We are: I took Joe to see the Green Lantern--a fun, goofy, summer movie. When Joe was really small and living at the orphanage, he and his brother LOVED comic books, so he read them all voraciously, and this kind of movie always makes him really happy. We're relaxing with the NY Times, and I may just take him out for dinner. xo
Bonjour chère amie, Where are you on this nice photo? In the middle? So small, lost between the huge arms of a protective dad? Amazing how a picture yet so personal can evoke memories in other people! Nice post! I kiss you and hope you are well.
Sue, Good to see you back and glad you liked my photos of Tuscany in my last Travel Oyster posting. We're big bird watchers and I loved your sketch of the red-breasted woodpecker. We see a lot of them at our cabin in Michigan. In your next career, maybe you can sell the mugs!

Bonjour, Carol and Petales.
Petales, I'm the one on the left--my younger sister is on my dad's lap. My older sister is on the right.
